Field Notes

Last updated March 2011

Keep detailed records on location. Free to print and use.

MikePhoto.com is pleased to make available for download our own Field Notes document for keeping records when on assignment.

We do use more sophisticated devices such as the usual Blackberry, GPS, or other Personal Information Managers to take notes and save relevant information, however, the MikePhoto.com Field Notes enables us to quickly scribble on paper and record details about the location, subject matter, time of year, and even document behaviour of different individuals.

Download MikePhoto.com Field Notes in Adobe PDF format.
You will need Acrobat Reader to open and print the document. You can download the reader here.

Tip: When used on a birding assignment, we usually keep the list of birds observed on the back of the paper. If we feel inspired, we again use the back of the printed field notes to narrate a particular encounter or even sketch the bird's shape. We may sketch characteristics of the wings in flight, tail, colors and so forth. You get the idea.
